The intersection and interplay between inside and outside spaces have always fascinated me. In my little church, spring greenery can now be seen through a tall and narrow window, the outside looking in or perhaps the inside peaking into the big world. As the trees wake up from the slumber of this long, cold winter, it is immensely joyful to be able to see this little corner of spring – and as I look up and encounter it in the midst of a Sunday service, my heart beats faster and is awash in joy.
Spring is everywhere, it dwells inside us and our buildings just as much as under the open spring sky… And so it is with joy of spiritual seeking. It’s everywhere, to be found and experienced under the young green branches just as much as in our seeking hearts.
